Hello all,

I have a Toshiba SD-1300 DVD Player. Plays DVD's, VCD's with no problem. However, playing SVCD's, the picture is great, but the Audio is out of sync. Very frustrating. Does anyone have a fix or a suggestion on how to resolve this?. Many thanks.

Regards,
Joe.

use roxio videopack 5.1 to burn your svcd and they will be perfect every time. nero is a good burning program but is no good with sd1300 .i have tried many setting changes in nero with no success. videopack 5 is ok as well but causes shutdown problems if your o/s is winxp.

I really can not agree with this. I think every version of Roxio or the old Adaptec EZ CD Creator is awful. I know that in the past Roxio did not create truly compliant VCDs or SVCDs and a lot of weird problems people had went away when they stopped using it.
As far as Toshibas go, Toshiba was infamous for making DVD players that didn't play CD-R or CD-RW in the past. In fact, one guy I know told me that he bought a Toshiba model that wouldn't play VCD on ANY media, not even legitimate commercial ones from Asia. When he called Toshiba and asked them about the model, they said that it didn't support VCD at all. My feeling about Toshiba DVD players is that friends don't let friends buy them. Sometimes firmware updates fix weird problems like this, but I don't know where you can check on this.

I don't know which method you use to create SVCD's but try this. Use Tmpgenc tools to de-multiplex your SVCD mpg. Then multiplex using bbMpeg and apply a 220 m/s delay to the Video. Result... perfect sync. Problem? They won't play in sync on other DVD players but who cares?
