Definately it is CCE 2.62 or 2.64, Last night I encoded a Uncompressed avi file that was 2hours and 14 minutes at 352 by 240 at over 5 times real time, so it took about 25 minutes for over 2 hours of avi and that is on a 1.7ghz Intel, compressed files do take longer but still faster than real time....
I frame serve with cce .. 2hr dvd to mpeg 2 using 2-pass takes 1hr 45 mins on a amd 1.7 ..thats the fastest i've ever been able to do ..and the quality is pritty dam good too.
Damn that is fast!!! It takes me like 7 -12 hours to do a 1 hour 40 min movie with TMPGEnc!!!! Is this CCE as easy to use??? I'm pretty new to all this but having fun learning!!! And what dose CCE stand for ??? I know there initials for something.
Oh and right now I'm using a 1.8 celry..... but upgrading very soon to a P4 3ghz with 1 gig dual chanel ram.... hoping this will greatly improve speeds!!!
Yes CCE is a Very Good encoder But it is Fairly Complicated to use and it is only really good For SVCD and DVD Encodeing..What Makes it complicated is you Basicly need to Know how to Frameserve with AVISynth or V-Dub as CCE will Not resize the Image so it has the correct SVCD Resolution and it has no other Filters that is why you have to Frameserve..Now I use a P-4 2.53ghz and a 2 hour SVCD is done in about 1 hour and encodeing to DVD takes about 1.5 hours for a 2 hour movie, and the Encoder costs $2000, Another Fast and Good Quality encoder is called "MainConcept encoder" it is allmost as fast as CCE and it is easy to use and does good Quality VCD"s also...
Actually guys, you can use TMPG to create a project then convert the project using VFAPI then use the AVI created by VFAPI in CCE. This method of frameserving works great for me and there is no need to learn AVIsynth commands.
If you're trying to encode to MPEG1 then I gather that CCE has rather ordinary results. I recommend Mainconcept (MC) for MPEG1 VCD.
MC is faster than realtime, and produces results that are similar to Procoder, which is the best MPEG encoder I have.
I find CCE intriguing, but it can't transcode from MPEG, and it can't resize. Both of thse contraints make it largely useless to me.
MainConcept isn't too expensive either, about 130 bucks. It isn't bad at MPEG2 either, although I've not done strict comparisons with Procoder on that.
Thans for the info guys!!! I'm mostly encoding to mpeg2 but have done some cartoons in mpeg1. I'll look into this main concept encoder ...... but for now I think I'll stick with tmpgenc since I'm still learning how to use it to its fullest and I have no clues on frame serving .......LoL....
