7 gig?

how did you get a mpg of 7 gig, sounds impossible. i use procoder to encode from divx, avi to mpg. in procoder you can load the avi and then choose for example vcd or svcd as output, then you go to advanced options and choose the filesize where it shall be cut during the encoding. you can adjust the bitrate so that you get the number of records you want when you encode to svcd (vcd is fixed bitrate).

star wars is too long to put on two discs use 3 discs and higher bitrate so that you get the quality you want

Hi,

Divx 900 Mb, hhmm...
Open it in Virtualdub, mark first half, select direct audio and direct video output and save 450 Mb avi. Delete first selected part of frames and save rest to 450 Mb avi. Re-encoding a high-compressed divx-avi to SVCD is a Very Bad Idea.

Yes I treid that alreddy,

He wouldn't open it I got this error: Cannot open decompressor for format 'DX50' (unknown)

VertiualDuv requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codes to decompress video. DirectShow codes such as Those used bij Windos Meedia Player, are not suitable.
