SVCD ok on computer, on DVD player audio out of sinc.

I Ripped a DVD using Gordian Knot.(Smart Ripper DVD2AVI etc.)
I used TMPGEnc to combine the AVS file with the WAV file.
I Split the MPG to 3 using Mpeg Split.
Then I burned the 1st MPG file (as SVCD) with the latest version of Nero (the burning process took about 5 minutes).

The Problem:

When I'm watching the CD in my computer with my DVD drive, everything is fine, but when I'm playing it with my DVD Video Player (Toshiba SD-220) the audio is out of sinc! The sound has about half a second delay after the video.

Can I do anything (besides letting Nero onvert the movie for me)?

Pleeeease let me know.

Tons of people have reported similar problems in using TMPGenc to split their files. The only solution is to use another program to edit or split your video, but everything I know of that works is a commercial product. I'm not aware of any other free programs that can split MPEG video.

bbmpeg freeware is the best multiplexingtool there is - AND it will let you split the file at any filesize in the muxingprocess.

Simply load the separate video and audiofile - set the muxparameter to svcd - set the filesize to 795 to fit perfect on a cd-r (or whatever filesize you want) - start the muxing and when its done you have 2-3 perfect files ready to burn.

see my litle guide at:

Thanks for your very clear guide. Just printed it out.
This appears just what I 'should' have been using.

maybe you should try to burn your svcd file 4 x

even better 2x

i heard this fixes alot of problems with audio and video on dvd players ( this is only if the splitted files work on your computer !
)

Similar Problems

September 19 2002, 10:15 PM

I have had similar problems, though not with split files, just purely copying dvd to svcd using dvd2svcd and the cinema craft encoder (2.5) One suggestion was to cycle through the options using the language key on the dvd remote control. This actually worked - on some. I then discovered that many people in the forums were saying that they had much better success using CDRWs on their standalone DVD players than they had with plain CDRs. Combining the two suggestions I now have in-synch svcds. Have no idea why but it is currently working for me. Good luck - I would be keen to know if this works for you!

I'd becarefull though, cd-rw can after not a such long time "dissolve" their surface and you will end up with a big problem. Just a friendly advice.

The problem is solved!!!

Well, I discovered that my problem with the Toshiba DVD player is quite common.

To fix the Sound delay, all I have to do is play the movie, and press the Angle key on my remote-control a couple of times (switch betwin Audio1 and Audio2, and return to Audio1) and everything is GREAT!

Interesting isn't it?

By the way, my way of making SVCD is the best becaue TMPGEnc works directly with the VOB files!
I use 3 CD-Rs and the quality of the movies is unbelievable!

Thank you all.
