For Nap .. and others

Hey Nap,

I just found myself doing something that sounds so obvious that you'd never think of it. I pulled one of the 25 disc samples I got from MeritLine and went to burn a DVD with it.

The burner spit it out and said to insert a good medium. Huh? So I tried another .. same deal. After almost a hundred suddenly failure. Well guess what?

I'm getting so good at doing this stuff the only problem was that I wasn't paying attention to the DVD drive when I started the burn. I was sticking the disc in and going straight away to click on burn. The problem was that the DVD burner was STILL reading the newly inserted disk. On the Panasonic DVD burner when it's reading (or burning) the LED glows orange. When it's ready, it changes to green. I wasn't waiting for the drive to finish doing it's thing.

So I re-inserted the mistakenly thought bad disc and waited until it finished and gave me the green go signal. THEN it accepted it and the burn was fine.

Just in case .. make sure the CD burner has done it's thing and is "ready" before you click on the "burn" icon. Some discs seem to take a bit longer for the burner to analyse them. (or what-ever it's doing for those 20 or so seconds) Whew .. I thought I suddenly ran into a batch of bad discs.

Too much coffee!

Its not ME - the PCs are too damn slow!

For a month or two after the release of any new OS I gingerly click about. Then its OPEN SEASON! My friend and PC guru was shocked to see see I double-click to open up to 7 programs before the first one pops-up! Another favorite is to close a program then open a few before the first one closes!

Do I have bugs...? YESSSSS And I HATE them too, worse than Bush hates the Bill Of Rights!! Its so hard to slow down...

"One day I will sit before a PC that will be more than fast enough in every way, and for 7 days and 7 nights I shall beat upon it. When done I will move my ATI card unto it for I know that it was good"!
