I recently acquired a film from a friend. It is tagged .mpg. When I try to play it through Media Player comes in with an error message claimming the file type is unsupported. Why? What software is out there to help me out? Or, am I just ignorant? I personally vote for the third opition. Any help is welcome. Thank you.
Perhaps it is a MPEG2 file and you don't have a software DVD-player installed? MPEG2 decoding is not included in Windows, you need a decoder and you get a decoder if you install a software DVD-player. I recommend PowerDVD or WinDVD.
