Do you mean Daemon Tools?
It can be used as a virtual CD/DVD unit.
Let's say you have made an disc image, perhaps an SVCD. Then you can mount this disc image and it will appear as a separate disc in your computer. But it is actually stored on your harddrive. This can be used if you want to test yoour disc before burning or if you have a disc you want to play without physically put it into your drive (perhaps your favourite game that you have copied to an image file). It will load as fast as your harddrive.

It can be used also when copying a CD. You mount your disc image and then you can make a copy "on the fly" from this virtual drive. Perhaps this is useful in some cases.

hey thanks alot man..maybe you can help me out with another thing. I was using dvd2svcd along with cce 2.5. it worked fine for 2 movies then every time i used it again it froze up. i changeed the bit rate to 2000 like everyone says but it still froze. I tyied asking about this n the doom forum but no one whats to help they just give me attitude. so i installed cce 2.6 with the crack and now it dvd2svcd works but when its done all i have is a movie with a black screen and audio. please help me out here!

I had the same problem with CCE. I got a bunch of suggestions that did nothing to fix the problem. People were very helpful to me, but they didn't solve the problem. I tried everything suggested including changing the bit rates. It made no difference. Finally one guy suggested using the program WinTasks (do a web search) and running DVD2SVCD under it. If I used WinTasks and set DVD2SVCD to Real Time priority, CCE stopped freezing and my problems went away. I'm not sure what's causing your problem with CCE 2.6. The forums at doom9 used to be a great place to get info. It's not encouraging to read that things may have changed.

Is that "wintasks" or "wintask"? wintaks is like $50 bucks
