You get this error usually useing the "Multipass encodeing method and when the encoder starts to encode after the passes it reads back to the VAF file were the information from the passes is stored and if the information in the VAF file is Different than the information from the file it is encodeing you will get this error..It is basicly telling you that the file has somehow changed from the file you did the passes on and the file it is encodeing..if you haven"t changed the file in anyway from doing the passes and doing the encodeing then I don"t know what could be wrong..Try useing the "One Pass VBR" instead of a "Multi-Pass". encode...

The is a program to patch cce to stop this happening. I am not sure where it can be downloaded from but it is called 'cce patcher' by Tsunami. I believe the problem is associated with Athlon processors.

I haven’t changed the file in any way and tried your suggestion by using the “One Pass VBR” and I am still getting the same error message.
I have even downloaded the patch for cce and the cce just froze and did not respond.
The processor I am using is Intel P4, which is why I can’t understand the problem that is like you said mainly associated with Athlon processors.
Any solutions will be appreciated. THANKS
The web address for the patch if anybody needs it is http://members.chello.at/haubentaucher2/dl.htm

Check sum errors also happen when the program it self is corrupted..Try re-downloading the file and try again...

Actually the CCE error you see is caused by frame serving. It's well known and it's not an AMD specific problem. The AMD specific problem with CCE is that CCE would crash if you tried to encode audio with it on an AMD box. Don't know if they ever fixed it. Do a web search and look for WinTasks. It's the only program that eliminated my CCE problems with DVD2SVCD. If you get it, run DVD2SVCD in real time priority and it should solve your problems. I think you can get a demo copy of WinTasks if you like.
