How to convert mpg2 file to svcd

Hello,

I have a creative video blaster digital vcr card and want to burn the captured video to a cd for viewing on my dvd player. Apparently the mpeg2 file produced by this Creative's card and software is a proprietary format and cannot be used to create SVCDs or VCDs. Is there any software that I can use to create SVCD or vcd files from the mpeg2 files produced by Creative's software? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Frank

Well if it isn"t a Real Mpeg2 file then you are going to have to find a way to convert it to Mpeg2..Now this Can be a big problem cuz with Most propietry Formats you can only convert them with Software from the Company in this case "Creative Labs", or you can"t convert them at all...But I guess you can try to convert it with a Standard mpeg encoder...Try Converting it with Tmpgenc..Well see if it will load it anyways...What you Should do is not Capture to that Format, you can try to capture to Mpeg2 with something like WinDVR or Ulead Video Studio 6 but Mpeg captures aren"t allways the best Quality..You should try Captureing to AVI with something like HuffyUV Codec or Pic-Video Mjpeg codec then encode that to Mpeg format with Something like Tmpgenc or CCE, the Quality would be better that way, and "Virtual Dub" is a Good Freeware Capture program but depending your your Capture Card you might not be able to use any other software than the one that came with your card so you should check it out...
