Ulead DVD Moviefactory problem.his is the problem: I captured a movie (from my Sony TRV16E: yes PAL version) with Adobe premiere 6.5 via a firewire. Did some editing, etc. Converted the avi file with CCE 2.66 (Elementary stream video only VBR, etc), but CCE autodetects the avi as PAL version so deselects (even when I select it) 'upper field first'(field A). So I get a mpv file. Then I strip the audio from the avi with virtualdub and save it to wav. The next step is to convert the wav (after some modifications with audio soft = lower noise, higher volume, etc) to mp2 with 48kHz and 348kb/s, 16 bits. At last multiplexing the mpv and mp2 with BBmpeg, last version beta 18, to a mpeg-2 file wich is fully DVD complient. When I want to author it with Ulead DVD Movyfactory however, i cannot open the file because of not vcd/svcd/dvd compliant??????? PowerDVD has no problems opening it! I did some testing: it may be a sound problem, so I encoded the video only with TMPEGenc, and multiplexed the video file and the mp2 file I used with CCE. That worked,ie, Ulead could open that, so it is NOT a sound problem. The problem is in the encoding process. When I vigourasly compare the file created with TMPEG and CCE (info button at 'open MPEG file' in Ulead DVD Movyfactory), the ONLY difference is that in the TMPGenc file there is 'Field A' next to the DVD(PAL), and the CCE encoded file gives 'Field B' next to the DVD(PAL). It looks like Ulead cannot open a file with 'Field B' or 'Bottom field first' or PAL system!!!! Your next question could be 'have you select PAL in the installation window? My answer is that first I selected PAL, But when I found out what was wrong, I reinstalled the prog and selcted 'install PAL and NTSC'. That didn't make a difference. I really would like to continue to use CCE, because it's much faster and better, so anyone who can solve the problem, would do me a big favour. Thanks in advance!!!
I wasn't aware there was an "Install pal AND ntsc option" .... is there, or was that a typo?
I'm using PAL DV material and CCE and everything is lower field first throughout. Havent tried loading to Ulead though sorry. Does load fine in SpruceUP.
Well It could be a Sequence header Problem..Did you Close All GOP"s and Select DVD Compliant and Put a Sequence Header before each GOP?? I personally havent had any problem with Ulead DVD workshop 1.3 even with Non-compliant files, even Pal files I burnt as Ntsc files, I converted the frame rates and resolutions of cource before hand..and I havent had CCE change settings on My before either ..What version of CCE are you useing?? I just started useing the 2.66.01.05 version but I also use the 2.64.01.10 version..Maybe try to De-interlace the source file and maybe CCE won"t be able to Judge the field order..Do it with a AVSynth script or use AVSynth to reverse the field order before you load it into CCE..Just a few suggestions that Might help....
First: yes there is an option for PAL or NTSC, i fact there are three choices to chose from:
1/ select the country you live in
or
2/ select PAL or NTSC
or
3/ select both PAL and NTSC templates.
Second: this is very weird: I tried to import the file in DVD Workshop, and it accepts!! All the files Moviefactory refused, Workshop accepted!! hereby, my problem is solved. Thanks for the suggestions!
