BSOD during capture. Is the AVI repairable?

Hey Guys,
My system crashed during a capture this evening. It crashed 3 minutes in to the capture, leaving a file size of 590MB. I was capturing a clip live off-air which won't be repeated, so I'd like to try and retrieve as much of it as possible.
When I open the file in VirtualDub I get the message 'Reconstructing missing index block (Agressive mode)'. The file then opens but I can't do anything with it. Can't move the trackbar from it's starting position, can't see any frames at all. I then tried using AVISynth to open the file with VDub. This time I could move the trackbar and see frames, but only the first 32 seconds of the clip opened.
I tried opening the clip using AVIEdit. After about a minute the clip opened, but only the first 32 seconds again.
Is there anything else I could do to try and get at the other 2 and a half minutes? Any other programs I could try?
The clip was captured using an MJPEG codec, 768x576 PAL.
TIA for any advice.

Best,
John.

I believe avi are not very easily fixable. If VD can not do the "magic" then I do not think anything will, soory

Thanks for the reply Seb.
Actually, I've had some luck in fixing the avi. Found a program called DivFix, opened the file with it and selected Rebuild Index. It seems to have done the trick, the avi now plays for the full 3 minutes.

Best,
John.
