I have a AVI with 5.1 sound (AC3) how can i convert it into SVCD so it is stull 5.1 sound? With other AVI to SVCD programs you can only choose for mono,Stereo,joint-stereo. and not for Dolby Digital. wich program's do i need for this operation?
You Can"t In Most cases Still retain the 5 channel Surround sound..There is a Audio Format called Mpeg 5.1 But your DVD Player has to specificly support this format, all DVD Players that support this audio format will have a Mpeg 5.1 Logo on them But in all Likelyhood you Do Not have one of these Very rare DVD Players, so I think you are SOL(Sh*t out of Luck)...

Well that is strange and and illegal(In Canada and US) Cuz Mpeg5.1 is a Patented Format So it is Supposed to me Labeled on the DVD Player Like Dolby Digital Is labeled and So Is DTS, I work In a Big name Electronics store and Every Player that supports Mpeg5.1 has to have it labeled on the Player, But this is In Canada so Maybe the Patent & CopyRight laws are different In Europe ..But Yes ReMpeg will Do it with Vob files with 5.1 AC3 But I don"t think it will work on AVI files...

Yes, ReMPEG2 (that's what you meant) will convert AC3 to multichannel MPEG-2 audio, but it will NOT convert the audio from 48 KHz to 44. Yes, I know you can burn SVCD with 48 KHz audio and it will probably work, but technically this does violate the standard, which is very explicit that only 44 KHz audio is permitted.
