VCD/SVCD aspect ratio

When i burn a vcd or svcd that was made from a wide screen divx file, it gets distorted, i cannot find out how to fix thes for a 4:3 ratio tv, can't i just make a vcd w/ the "bars" at the top and bottom of screen some how, i use NERO to make my vcd/svcd's if that helps, is there a program that can make the "bars'

Are You Useing "Nero" To encode the Files to Mpeg/VCD????If you are Then DON"T,I don"t know how many times I have said this But Nero Is the WORST mpeg encoder there Is...and you have no controll over the encodeing Perameters...If you want to fix your problem Then First off Don"t use Nero To Encode, Use something like "Tmpgenc", it is a High Quality Encoder, it is Free For Mpeg1/VCD Encodeing , and you will Be able to use to to get the Correct aspect Ratio with your VCD"s.....

thanx for that info, i'm new to vcd/svcd and started to encode dvd's to divix months ago, but lost track so haven't done much since i started.
