Trying to use MovieStar, and need some help. Call a long distance toll number, wait 30 minutes, no one comes on. Opt for their answered line, $15.95. I assume that it pays for up to 30 days of expedited service.
I call back later, sorry bud, $15.95 PER CALL. This is extortion, their knowlege-base is worthless, and the documentation with the product is a joke.
I don't have the link because I'm on my notebook dialing up, but you should seek Spawn's Dazzle site. His site has absolutely everything you're going to need, including discussion groups with knowledgeable people.
The Dazzle product...depending on which one you have, can be a very very good choice, but there's no question that the dazzle site is bs.
In fact the dazzle card that I have is discontinued, but I have two of them...that's how much I like'em.
Sadly you have learned the truth about Dazzle. It's tech support is awful. Well, I have a DVC II and I absolutely love it, but I knew before I bought it that I would have to get help from one of the forums rather than Dazzle if I had issues. I could also say some nasty things about ATI's tech support too, but that's another issue. The links posted are good resources. I will warn you about the Dazzle forum which is listed first. I had a thorny installation problem when I got my DVC II that I posted about. I got one helpful response that got me going and several useless ones. The quality of helpful responses in the forum is pretty low, but if you post a sensible question with plenty of information to go on, someone who knows something may respond and help you, but you might get 5 useless answers as well. A lot of people in
that forum just like to bitch about how "bad" the
DVC II is for VCD, which is another thing I don't
agree with.
Spawn is The Man! Check out his site. If you have Dazzle issues, maybe something on Spawn's site can help you. Spawn sometimes posts on the Dazzle forum and if
you're lucky enough to get him to help you, you will
get your problem fixed. You could always try posting
about your problem here too. There are a few of us
Dazzle users here and this forum has less nonsense on
it and more help than most forums I've seen.
