It has been my experience that a lot of SVCD sync issues
are caused by the video bit rate being too high. The
spec demands that the video+audio total bit rate not
exceed 2724 Kbps. Some people can make XSVCDs with bit
rates well above 3000 and not have any problems. Other
people have DVD players that will freak out if the bit
rate gets much above the specs. You might go to
http://www.tecoltd.com
and get the free Bit Rate Viewer. Look at your video and pay attention to the peak bit rate. It is a lot above 2700? If you so, you might have to consider re-encoding your video to a lower bit rate to fix this problem. Since most SVCD audio is recorded at 224 Kbps, your video should be below 2500 to avoid problems. I know nothing about the program you are using, so I'm just making a hopefully helpful suggestion here. The only programs I recommend you use for re-encoding your
video, if it comes to that, are ReMPEG2 and CCE. CCE
is a commercial product, so you'll have to pay a
fortune to buy it or find an "evaluation" copy.
