I can't find anything about this but how would I go about ripping the sopranos dvd box set episode by episode...because i really can't understand how i can select one episode or do it piece by piece...right not it selects the first episode or a random one to rip...i want to be able to select which one i want to rip first...basically how can i make it so that dvd2svcd will allow me to rip one episode at a time?
If anyone has a website/url with instructions that would greatly help me out.
If you want to Rip and encode the Episodes seperately then Don"t use DVD2SVCD, do it Manually, Rip the VOB"s to your Hard drive then use DVD2AVI and Make a seperate D2V and WAV file for each episode, then encode them with your Favorite encoder..If useing Tmpgenc you can just load the D2V file in and the WAV file and encode it with whatever settings you want and if useing CCE then you just need to write a Simple AVS Script then load it into CCE and encode..I find it Much better doing it My self instead of useing a "All in One" program like DVD2SVCD cuz you get much better Controll over the Quality and the Encodeing Perameters in general..
Thanks...i've done the ripping manually...but i don't remember how...its been more than a year since i last ripped a dvd 2 svcd using the manual method...do you know of a website that explains how...i totally forgot the steps.

How did you rip the DVD? I am just starting out in this venture and am pretty new. Also, will Roxio's Easy Creator 5 burn an svcd to disk so i can watch it on my dvd player? Thanks in advance.

There are a lot of rippers available. http://www.doom9.net
has a bunch of them and some guides too. DVD Decrypter
and SmartRipper are probably the best.

To Rip the Episodes Manually is Quite easy, you use SmartRipper to Extract the VOB files to you Hard disk then load the Vob files into DVD2AVI then just use the Slider and the Mark in and Mark out buttons to Choose each episode seperately, and Make a D2V file and a Wav file for each episode then load the D2V & Wav file into Tmpgenc and encode them to SVCD and Burn them with You favorite Burning or Authoring Program...
And to the Other Person ,Whatever you do Stay away from ANY Roxio Software Cuz there Software Sucks really Badly.....

I took one chapter off a DVD with SmartRipper and got a VOB file and other stuff. When I ran this through DVD2SVCD I ended up with an mpg, mp2 and a bunch of stuff. I thought I would end up with SVCD stuff. If I were to rip all the chapters I would end up with about 5 gig worth of stuff. How is that going to fit on one CD? What am I missing here? thanks in advance.
Also downloaded a couple of tar/rar files for The Ring. When I unrar-ed them I ended up with a big file called ftftr.2.bin (~350 meg) and a ftftr.2.cue file. What do I do with these?
Yes you are Missing the Whole Concept of Makeing SVCD"s..You ripp ALL of the VOB files with Smartripper then you Use DVD2AVI to Make a D2V project File that you can load into Tmpgenc to encode to SVCD format which is Mpeg2 with the extention .mpg, Now you take this File and Burn it as a SVCD with a Burning program that supports SVCD"s...You don"t burn the VOB files from the DVD, you encode the VOB files from the DVD to a Smaller sized mpeg file with the SVCD resolution and Bitrate , this can be done with Tmpgenc..There are other ways of doing it with other encoders But I"m trying to tell you the Very easiest way to do it..If you are Totally lost then you can e-mail me with the problem you are haveing and I"ll try to talk you through it...
