why bother...

THey give it away bundled with alomst any piece of VIdCap hardware. Even then don't bother since, last I tried it (about 6mo ago), it wont do DVD resolutions for video or audio. I think it did not do SVCD either (getting foggy now).

I almost kept the TVguide program that comes with it. In many ways its better than ATIs GEMSTAR+PLUS and its integrated nicely with the ATI hardware, but...

...as always the devils in the details. I eventually decided that, even though it seemed faster and smoother, it took months to realize it was clusmy and slowed me down in other ways. I returned to GEMSTAR and stopped complaining (As much).

Well, it cannot be the same piece of software we are talking about, since the first release of WINDVD Recorder was in november 2002.

Hi,

I have tested Intervideo WinDVR 2.0 and it's more stable than ATI's MMC7.7 but a bit tricky with audio on/off. Must reselect line-in to get audio on after capturing.

Nothing like that here

I tried WinDVR & the results are better than MMC 7.7 true, but did not have any problems with audio in it

Hi,

Yeah. Intervideo have a lot of different stuff.

My self-made test-machine is dual-pentium and must have something wrong with bios or system drivers because it is unstable and so on. Mysterious MMC hangup is the worst problem.

But the question was about WinDVD Recorder. Not about WinDVR.
