THey give it away bundled with alomst any piece of VIdCap hardware. Even then don't bother since, last I tried it (about 6mo ago), it wont do DVD resolutions for video or audio. I think it did not do SVCD either (getting foggy now).
I almost kept the TVguide program that comes with it. In many ways its better than ATIs GEMSTAR+PLUS and its integrated nicely with the ATI hardware, but...
...as always the devils in the details. I eventually decided that, even though it seemed faster and smoother, it took months to realize it was clusmy and slowed me down in other ways. I returned to GEMSTAR and stopped complaining (As much).
I have tested Intervideo WinDVR 2.0 and it's more stable than ATI's MMC7.7 but a bit tricky with audio on/off. Must reselect line-in to get audio on after capturing.
My self-made test-machine is dual-pentium and must have something wrong with bios or system drivers because it is unstable and so on. Mysterious MMC hangup is the worst problem.
