Nero Feedback

I got a e-mail back from Nero today saying to try this to get the plugin recognized. You should run the CleanTool that they sent me which I did. They then said to do a clean install and downloaded version 5.5.10 on the website but make sure I went to regedit and got my serial number from 5.5.9 which I did. I re-installed with the latest 5.5.10 download (12.3mb) from their website, rebooted, entered my serial number, etc. I then installed the Nero Plugin which of course said it installed ok, rebooted. Guess what same problem, Nero says cannot find plugin. I aksed for my $24 to be credited back to my card and quite honestly I find it hard to believe Nero can't even find it's own plugin. I mean I could see if you were trying to use some generic plugin but that's pretty bad when it can't even find it's own. I am now making a SVCD mpg file through TMPGEnc and I hope Nero recognizes it as a SVCD file. So far, I have used other programs to made a SVCD file with all the correct parameters like 480x480, 44100, etc. and Nero has yet to recognize any as a SVCD file. I realize their SVCD plugin is supposed to be able to produce a SVCD disk, but you aren't even supposed to have to have the SVCD plugin if the file is a SVCD mpg compatible. I like Nero but this is ridiculous.

Thanks, one more question

I am not very famalier like you guys about this and what I did was rip a DVD to and used TMP to produce the SVCD mpg files. The files came out great and the voice and audio were in perfect sync. Now, since this was supposed to be in SVCD format, I went into Nero Express and am making the CD now. However, is Nero screwing this up because it says recording action transcoding my movie file. If I produce the SVCD mpg file in TMP what is the best way to actually burn the SVCD. Is there a trial or shareware version of software you recommend that is easy enough for a novice like me to just take the SVCD mpg file and burn it. I'm confused that since the mpg files were supposed to be SVCD compliant why Nero just didn't burn them right off instead of more decoding ?

If nero is Re-encodeing the File is will Ruin any Quality that the SVCD File has, Nero Vision Express will allways Encode the file even if it is a Compliant SVCD so don"t use it, I usually use VCDEasy to Burn Basic SVCD"s it is easy to use and it is Freeware...

My suggestion is to ignore the SVCD plugin and tell
Nero to burn your SVCD even though it's not
"compliant", which is an option. Nero's compliance
check is not all that accurate. I have SVCD videos
that Nero will pass but they're not honestly not compliant according to the SVCD standards.

Nero

I did have a problem with burning a vcd with Nero. On the PC the movie was good, and after burning the movie was upsidedown and the subtitles were in mirror. I burnt the same movie with WinOnCd and this works out perfect, so Nero is not recommended.
