I'm trying to play svcd movies on my AMD 2700+, 512, 128 ATI machine but when I play it the audio is out of synch and the movie doesn't run smoothly at all. I've tried several different codecs, several different players, tried to convert them with dvd2avi which crashes in the middle of the file. Does any1 know any GOOD codec or a GOOD program to convert the files?
Re: Weird problem when playing SVCD movies pls. help

Are you doing DivX conversions? That's important to know
and you didn't say so, although from reading your
message I think you are. DivX files can have a ton of
problems that can influence your final output. If that's
what you're doing, your source may have bad frames
because some of what you're seeing can be caused by bad
frames in DivX. Sometimes DivX uses variable bit rate
audio and that can be tough to correctly convert to
MPEG-2 audio, which uses a constant bit rate.
