In Nero express my Plugin works fine, but I have a question. I realize the Nero plugin gets a very bad rap here on this forum, but I am not that picky and the quality of the SVCD is ok with my wife and I.
Now to the question. Why is it when you already have produced a SVCD mpeg file (mpeg2) in TMPGEnc that Nero does this. It says this right off. The mpeg-2/svcd Plugin has been detected and installed on your system. Your video files will automatically be converted during the burn process. Ok, that's fine. But now, when you drag the file into Nero it says "Creating Menu's and Transcoding Streams" Burning Project onto the disk and then proceeds to take another couple hours to do the burn as if it isn't recognizing it as a SVCD. If it is already SVCD compatible thru TMPGEnc why does Nero have to do this transcoding again. We use Nero Vision Express and this is very distrubing why this happens. If you use just regular Nero and drag the SVCD file produced from TMPGEnc it analyzes the file when dragged in and makes a SVCD fairly fast and when looking at the menus on the CD they have the mpeg and SVCD folders and after burning and actually have the full like 700 mb of the SVCD file, but don't always play back without glitching around once in a while. It seems like a tremendous waste of time to use a good program like TMPGEnc to make a SVCD file and then Nero not accepting it as such ?? The problem is we have no other burn program besides Nero and why go out an buy more software just to burn an already SVCD generated file ? Unless there is actually freeware burn software that will burn the SVCD file generated by TMPGenc
Well this is One of the Reasons what Nero gets a Bad Wrap(Rightly So)...Nero Vision experss ALLWAYS re-encodes the File if it is SVCD Compliant or Not..To solve this Problem Just Don"t Burn the Files with Nero Vision Express, you can Use a Freeware Program to Burn it like "VCDEasy" which will Never re-encode the file Cuz it doesn"t have any Encodeing abilities..So if you are going to encode with Tmpgenc then don"t use Nero to Burn and if you are going to use Nero to encode then use Nero to Burn, But you will ALLWAYS get better Quality with Tmpgenc and VCDeasy then useing the other method...
I have used that program before, EazyVCD to make files through TMPGEnc but I never knew you could burn a file through VCDEazy, how the heck to you do that.
I think you Must have your Programs Mixed Up Cuz "VCDEasy" is Basicly Just a burning Program, it also Can extract a Mpeg file off if a VCD or SVCD Disk but it"s Main Purpose is to Burn VCD"s and SVCD"s to Disk..If you download it from " http://www.vcdeasy.org/ " and Install it Then it should be pretty easy to figure out, it also supports makeing Chapters....
You are so right about getting programs messed up, the one I tried is called EazyVCD and it works pretty well also and has a number of programs built into it with one of them being the TMPGEnc you can use to just rip a DVD movie to a SVCD file. Now, to try EasyVCD out on a burn of the same file and see what it looks like. On the computer the files play and look fine, but burned on Nero look kind of fuzzy and flickering around. So, I will just try burning them in the VCDEasy and see what happens. Thanks
i am a beginner with Nero, i sincerely hope that somebody out there will be able to help me,
things i tried to do:
1) copy a complete movie using Nero
2) copying selected songs or soundtrack from many selected VCDs into 1 CD using Nero
Result:
1) the copied VCDs do not autorun when i put the cds in the CDROM, need to select "PLAY" with PowerDVD.
2) the copied VCD do not run in the normal CD player,
Pls pls pls tell me what to do to be able to burn good VCD, and how to make the VCD to be able to autorun in the computer or in the normal VCD player. And the most important of all make the copied CD be recognise by any normal VCD player.
All the above maybe simple stuff for u people out there, but pls help me as i am a new comer. thk u in advance.

Well the Reason why it won"t play in a regular VCD Player is Probably Cuz VCD Player Usually don"t Play CD-R"s...and Of cource you Have to Press Play in Power DVD To get it to Play, when you Put a Tape in a VCR don"t you have to press Play top get it to Play...
