MPEG 2 Clip Software

Does anyone know of some software (free would be good) that a person could use to trim some MPEG2 clips?

I've captured the complete tape off my camcorder and I want to break the file into clips. The ATI capture is already in S-VCD format so I don't want to re-encode it or anything, all I want to do is break it up into MPEG2 clips.

All the software I've seen or tried wants to re-encode it or change it or something. I tried TEMPGenc, but it says my MPEG 2 trial is over even though I just downloaded it.

Honestech MPEG editor 4.0 looks good, but at $80 it's a little pricey.

Thanks,

Simple trimmimg can be easily done in TMPGEnc. Although its MPEG2 functionality is time limited, it's very easy to reset it back once it expires. Look around the net.

Dear Sir/ Mrs,
I think "TMPGEnc-2.520.54.163-Free" is a good program but have some errors in audio layer during converting files. I prefer to use another softwares.

not honestech

I bought honestech, and I don't recommend it. If you're going to shell out money get Womble, the best MPEG2 editor I've found. It has flaws and quirks, but works pretty well.

If anybody knows a digital solution that doesn't have flaws and quirks from A to Z btw, please let me know.

EVERYTHING screws up at every concievable point, at some time or another...lol.
