Hi,
I just got a Samsung DVD-S221 Player. I finally fixed the problem where it skipped frames a lot, the simple solution was to burn on CD-Rs not CD-RW, didnt skip a beat. Also remember to burn it at 2x not 4x, otherwise a 5-10 second skip may happen.
Now CD-RWs skip a lot with my DVD Player no matter what encoder I used, TMPEGEnc, CCE and burning with VCDEasy,Nero, or VCDImagerGUI. They skip some scenes but I dont know whats the problem, why should CDRs work great why CD-RWs dont, my dvd player does support CD-RWs..
Maybe some solutions I think are which I havent tried:
- Erase the CD completely(I use Quick Erase in Nero which takes a min)
Should that matter?
-Use different CD-RWs brands
I have used Maxell and Verbatim CD-RWs with no luck.
What do you think?
Please help with any solutions.
Thanks.
Rool

I find that although my DVD player can read CD-RW, it doesnt find it all that easy. So the maximum bitrate I can smoothly play files at is lower for CD-RW than for CD-R.
The fact that your slower burn speed helps is suggestive that the players struggling the read the data fast enough.
So I'd say your options are: try a few other media, or try lower-bitrate files, or simply stick to CD-R (hell where I am they are now regularly available for just a few cents each!), or upgrade to a better DVD player.
