Not really enough info to know what your problem is.
For a start, I assume you know CCE can't resize so you have to feed it 480x 480 (or 480x576 PAL)? If you do that, an SVCD encoding template should become visible...
I think you have the Wrong Idea About templates..You can not use Tmpgenc Templates in CCE!! CCE has a Very Basic NTSC SVCD Template that only appears when you Load a File that has the standard SVCD Resolution of 480+480 into it..CCE will Not Resize the Resolution of a Non SVCD Compliant file..So if your AVI file Does NOT Have a Resolution of 480+480, you will Need To Use a Frameserver like AVISynth , Virtual Dub or Vfapi to resize the resolution of the Source file to SVCD Resolutions, then there should be a SVCD template that appears in the Dropdown Menu..But you Don"t Need to Use the Template, Cuz all the Template does is set the Bitrate to SVCD standard Bitrate, I have never Used the Template and Make Compliant SVCD"s all the Time....
Ok, you maybe right. I didn't know much about Templates.
I always used to use TMPGEncoder and the Wizzard.
Then I downloaded CCE 2.50 patched it and now I can't burn the Film.
And I think you are right, I should resize my AVI first with VirtualDub or AviSynth. Is it possible to use the VFAPI-Reader to resize? Didn't know that (but will try).
Thank you for this good responses.
Do you know which CCE is best for Compatability issues to VirtualDub, AVISynth and VFAPI ?
The Versions of CCE that Accept AVISynth ,and Virtual dub Frame server Files are Versions 2.50, 2.64.01.10, and all 2.66 versions, the Best versions are the 2.64.01.10 and 2.66, with 2.66 haveing More options and seems a Little Faster..The way you can Use Vfapi to Resize and add filters is to use Tmpgenc to resize and add filters..You do this By loading your File into Tmpgenc and doing your Settings for SVCD but instead of encodeing you Make a TPR Project file then Load the TPR Project file into the "Vfapi Converter" and Make a Psudo AVI file, then use the Psudo AVI file in CCE, Vfapi works in all versions of CCE and Most all Programs that accept AVI Files...
I made an Mpeg-file with CCE (SVCD) , resized Picture with VirtualDub. Also, did convert Audio to 16 bit instead of original 8 bit with VDub.
The Movie I encoded was a ComputerGraphic one, a Bugs Life, you know it? and so I set up CCE to use the Quantization Matrice CG, wich comes with CCE-Patcher.
After encoding, I can not burn it to CD. Nero is complaining and wants to re-encode and VCDEasy tells me something about autopadding and shows a size of the CD of about 740 Mb.
If you're new to CCE, use DVD2SVCD (avaiable from vcdhelp.com) to author your SVCD. You can select CCE as you encoder and DVD2SVCD will hadle most of your settings for you. CCE v2.5 is the best for this purpose.
This is easy to fix..The Problem is that CCE does not Attach the Proper SVCD Header so to fix this Problem Take the Mpeg file and Load it into Tmpgenc"s Mpeg Tools "Merge & Cut" and Choose the "Super-Video CD" setting From the Dropdown Menu and Choose the Output Directory and Click "Run"...In a Few Minutes you will Have a Mpeg2 File with a SVCD header on it that will be seen as SVCD Compliant By Nero and VCDEasy will not Pad it...You can not use the "Multiplex" to Do this Because you will usually get "Buffer Underflow" errors....
You have to First Multiplex the audio and video as a Mpeg2 file then load it into the Merge & Cut with the SVCD setting...If you want to use Nero or VCDEasy you have to do this with Every file encoded with CCE, you can not set up CCE to attach the header cuz CCE is Basicly Just a DVD encoder..You don"t have to do this if you use something like "Ulead DVD workshop" to author the SVCD or other Ulead authoring Programs because Ulead re-writes the header before burning the file to add the chapters and menu"s....
Any bitrate calculator should work just fine: cce doesn't need any special tricks. I've been using FitCD (freeware) for some time now and it is VERY accurate.
