There is a Big Conflict with Xvid and Tmpgenc and most poeple Get a error when encodeing them..What i have heard that works But haven"t tried Cuz I hate Xvid is to change the FourCC code to the FourCC Code of DivX...Your audio problems are Probably due to the Fact that the audio is AC3 and V-Dub does Not Properly Handle AC3 audio, Use AVI-Mux to de-mux and Uncompress the audio to WAV, or Just De-Mux the AC3 and use Headac3he to encode it to MP2 audio...

TMPGenc probs

July 21 2003, 3:33 PM

Dude
I had the exact same problem, what i had to do is change the Four CC code using (Mini AviC Four CC Changer) its a free download but hard to find somethimes when u search for it, but there is an Xvid program that has it included, what i have to do is open the Xvid movie in virtualdub1.3 extract the sound file, and save it as a .wav file, then save the video file with no sound as an .avi file, then uninstall the Xvid codecs, open the Fourcc changer and change the Xvid files to divx file.
That way you shouldnt have any probs ancoding the files in Tmpgenc .
I know its a long way to do it but it really works well.

I have no problems encoding xvid if I frame serve it via avisynth to tmpgenc. I also have ac3 filters installed to playback avi with ac3 audio. I found the ac3 filters on doom9.org.

Accept that AC3 Filters in Most cases will not let you directly encode AC3 audio with Tmpgenc..I know a couple Poeple who have been able to do it But not very consistantly...
