Hello, I'm new to Digital video editing and have just run into my first major problem. I'm using Arcsoft's Showbiz for capture and editing as well as for converting AVI to SCVD. I then use Nero 5.9 for burning. In my last video 4 of my 5 tracks came out fine, but in one of them the audio preceeds the video and worsens over the course of the track so that after about 5 minutes it's off by about 8 seconds. Any ideas on what I can do? Thanks a lot for any help any one can offer.
If the Audio sync gets worce and worce over the cource of the movie then that is very difficult to fix..But it can be fixed if the File starts out at the Begining in Sync then goes out of sync as the Movie goes on..If this is the caes the sync problem is caused By the Audio and video tracks being Different lengths, this Problem can happen especially with Captured File ,mainly for 2 reasons One because sometimes with captures you drop frames, and over time it can cause the sync to get worse and worse and the second reason is because the video clock and audio clock on your sound card and capture card are not running on the same time clock, so over time they drift appart..What I do to fix these types of Sync Problems with Mpeg files is First I take the Mpeg file and De-Mux it, then I take the AVI file that I made the Mpeg file with and extract the audio from it to a WAV file, then I find out the exact length of the Mpeg Video file and then the exact length of the Wav audio file that I extracted from the source avi file, then there should be a Length differance ..The differance should be the amout that the audio is out By the end of the Movie..Now after writeing down the length of the audio to the 100th of a Second I load the wav audio file into a Good Audio editor, I usually actually use Vegas video or Sound Forge But you can also use Cool Edit, Now each of these Programs has a Feature were you can shrink or stretch the audio without changeing the Pitch, Now you just shrink or stretch(Usually Shrink) the audio to the Exact length of the Video then after that is done just render the wav file as a Mpeg audio file or render it as a WAV file and encode it to Mpeg audio, then Mux it with the Mpeg video ..Now it should be in Total sync..I have Done this Many Times and have been succussfull about 85% of the time, but it is Quite complicated....
