Hi, PALs

As we know, we cannot capture 480x576 .avi with this card.
But we can capture even 720x576 DV (mpeg2) with it.

Now what?

There is virtualdubmod 1.4.13. It can open mpeg2 if You rename it's extension to .vob. No audio though.

Ok, open fake-vob with it and use any filter You need, like Dynamic noise reduction, brightness, saturation etc.
Avoid resize if possible. Use final resolution and more kB/s instead while capturing.

Start frameserve and make .vdr

Open .vdr with CCE 266.01.07 (Make first suitable template without audio at all and use matrice like Andrea's) and make .m2v

Rename fake .vob back to .mpeg and Mux with Tmpgenc (or alike) .m2v as video and .mpeg as audio.

WHAT commercials left ?!?
If You didn't use pause on commercials, You must use Womble to get rid of them.

A bit tricky but works

There is a Little Known Virtual dub that will open Mpeg2 files without renameing them and It will decode the audio from mpeg files(Mpeg 2 audio I tried) and it will open VOB"s with AC3(I haven"t tried yet though)...I met a Guy in the unofficial Virtual Dub Forum and he Modified it by adding his own mpeg2 parseing rutine..It works really well, I just used it to test encode a Small 2 minute Mpeg2 svcd file to Mpeg-4 V1 and it encoded at about 55fps on a 1.7ghz Intell CPU..I don"t know were to find this version But if anyone wants a Version of Virtual Dub that will open Mpeg2 file and the audio with no apparent bugs Let me Know by e-mail and I"ll send it to you...

Hi, and thanks for extra info

There was Virtualdubmpeg2 first and now they are working around Virtualdubmod.

It would be nice to open file without renaming and having audio along too.

If You could load modified .exe to Yahoo's DVDbackup forum, so we could test it too. TIA
