I don't use premiere or the ligos codec but this is how it SHOULD work.

edit video on timeline.

When finished with layout, use the File:Export function.

Specify the format (mpeg 2) and the codec(ligos) and possibly a template (svcd) for the video/audio bitrate

Export to file and burn with your authoring app.

You would Get better Quality if you either Frameserved your Project from Premier to a Quality encoder like Tmpgenc or CCE, or even Rendered your Project as a Low compression AVI format Like HuffyUV then used a real Mpeg encoder to Encode the Project to SVCD...Ligos isn"t the Worst encoder out there But it definately is not anywere close to as good as the others mentioned...

SVCD in Premiere 6.0

Editing movie and make dvd or svcd it quite simple if you don't add effect on your home movie. To save time, first you should edit clip, add transtion, effect..ect before adding your own music if you like. The final step is rendering the clip before exporting it. Burning svcd using LSX encoder is not so bad. Here, the simple way to export it. File/Export movie, when window pop up, choose setting, it will give you another window, then click on loading project, the lsx project template is down at bottom of the list. Choose you svcd template. For got to mention one thing, REMEMBER to change frame size to 480x480 at video setting option, if you want to deinterlace your dv source go to special option and check "Deinterlace" and "noise reduction"

A much simpler solution

Upgrade (or get) version 6.5 of Premiere. It includes MainConcept encoder, and you can create VCD/SVCD/DVD files directly from the timeline, with the superb quality of MainConcept.
