I have a personal PAL DVD that I have copied TS_Video & TS_Audio folders directly from the DVD (not Copy righted). After I frameserved using the DVD2AVI, I imported .d2v file in to TMPGEnc and it shows the eintire video as 60fps...I want to convert it to NTSC DVD Compliant. Here is the questions:
1. do you think it will affect the quality, if I chnage the sampling rate to 29.97fps for NTSC???(Do I have to resample the video??)
2. Another question is that; when I frame served using DVD2AVI, It did not create the seperate audio file. (meaning there wasn't any audio file at all) What I am doing wrong here???
Please any help will be greatly appreciated..
Thanks in advance for your inputs..
Geek!!!
First off if the Frame rate was 60FPS then it isn"t a Pal VOB file, If anything that is NTSC, But I believe that there could be something wrong Cuz I do not believe that there is a DVD Standard for 60FPS,So I think the Frame rate that Tmpgenc is telling you is Wrong Cuz I don"t think that 60Fps exists in DVD..Get a Bitrate Viewer and put the Vob file in it and it should tell you the True Frame Rate of the VoB file..DVD2AVI should tell you the True Frame Rate in the Statistics window while Makeing the D2V file, and to extract the audio track to have to go to "Audio" to "Track" and Choose track #1, this should give you an audio file, and DONT use Tmpgenc to convert Frame rates Cuz it does Not do proper Frame Rate conversions, It uses Frame Dicimation instead of Interpolation which will produce a Jumpy stuttering effect in the encoded File, Unless you set it up Correctly Tmpgenc can do certain Frame Rate conversions But not NTSC to PAL or Pal to NTSC, if it Miraculously Turns out that the File really Is a 60FPS file then you could only make it a 30fps file Not 29.97fps, if it is 59.94fps then you can make it 29.97fps, you can do this By Clicking the "Settings" Tab next to the Frame Rate setting and Put in "60fps/2/30fps" or "59.94/2/29.97fps".. the First one is for a 60fps file and the other is for a 59.94fps file..I hope this helps but really make sure that frame rate is correct....
Thanks...I knew that you will be the one who gonna reply....Thanks a bunch...I will recheck Frame rate, once I will go home (I am at work now)...However I checked the track#1 and selected dolby digital surround and also wav & LPCM (something like that)under audio menu of DVD2AVI. It still did not give me seperate audio file. when I play vob files in ATI player, it plays normally with sound..What could I be doing wrong..
One more question..Is it possible to frame serve & encode each VOB individually and if it is possible, how would I do that?? All the VOB files are each individual video clips...and I need each & every individual clip seperately..
You mentioned that it is not a good idea to use TMPGEnc for converting from PAL to NTSC. Can you please suggest to me, which is the best software for the conversion (it should also accept .d2v & .wav files as source.)???? I know Canopus Procoder is the best but I can't find it anywhere...either thru Kazza or any similar software..
Hi,in DVD2AVI under Audio, "Chanell format" put it on Auto Select..as For comverting NTSCV and PAL there are only 2 Programs that i know of that Can do it Properly which are ProCoder, and Advanced NTSC/Pal Converter, and Neither will accept D2V files(Only Tmpgenc really does) but you can convert the D2V into a Psudo AVI with the "VFAPI Converter" and Use that, If you have something Like Vegas Video it can convert to and From Pal and NTSC, but it takes a Long time...You can e-mail me directly if you need some Help...See ya...
