I have just burned a SVCD with nero (MPEG 2 codec too) and have downloaded all the players that are supposed to view it. The problem is that when I put the disk in either my burner or the cd drive, neither will acknowldge that there is even a disk in it. WHAT WENT WRONG? I am about to throw this computer out of my office on the 42nd floor!!!!!

I have that problem with my ibm a31 laptop with a dvd/cdrw. if i burn on the laptop on problem, if i burn form my desktops, the svcd is not recognized, error reading disc, etc. I have tried both mpeg2 and mpegav folder options. The desktops reads them fine. I even lower the burning speed. No luck.
Burning all these svcd's that the laptop's dvd can't read.
In case your using them. Anyone else is a better choice.
IF you repeat the experiment but rather than burn a SVCD try a VCD or even just a data CD (raw MPG). Does playback computer recognize the disk? If not you got bigger problems. Can it playback the raw MPG? If not then your playback PC may not have the right CODEC or something....
