VCD copy protection

I came across some VCDs that seem to have copy protection on them. Both latest versions of Clone CD and Nero report unrecoverable read erros at 02:02.21 02:02.24 etc. Upon observing the back side of the CD reveals that th CD appear to be seperated into 3 parts by two seperate gaps. Is there a way to get around this? This is the first time that I have seen copy protection on VCDs from Taiwan. Thanks.

I"ve never heard of Copy Protection on VCD"s either so I don"t think it exists or every one would be useing it..You probably just have a Very Stuborn VCD..Try useing something like VCDEasy to extract the Mpeg off of the Disk, or Have you tried Just Draging and Dropping the DAT File off of the VCD to your Desktop???

VCD standards do not support copy protection, just FYI. However, it can be done. http://www.vcdhelp.com has a document on one way to put copy protection in a VCD. The problem is that copy protection schemes can make the VCD unplayable on some players. Lusifer's suggestions are worth considering as that might help you to copy it.
