Clip out of a DVD March 6 2003 at 7:29 AM		amigo (no login)

Hi all, I have been editing for some time but have never ripped a DVD or something similar. Now I have a DVD movie in which the is an extra consisting of a Video Clip of the main theme of the movie. What I want is to extract that video clip out of the dvd and put it in avi format. Any help, tutorial or clue from which I can start? Thanks in advance.
