Burning SVCD with Nero

I couldn't get the Nero mpeg2 encoder to work I keep getting a message "due to patent license restriction.....bla bla bla" and that I should buy the plugin although I already installed the plugin.
If I use another encoder how do I use Nero to burn the file as a svcd?

You should NEVER Use Nero to encode your Files to SVCD, Nero has one of the Worst Quality Mpeg2 encoders there is and useing it will just give you bad results, It is best to use a Real Mpeg encoder to encode to SVCD Like Tmpgenc,CCE or MainConcept Just to name a Few..It is easy to burn a SVCD With nero, after encodeing the file to SVCD just start Nero in WiZard mode and choose "SVCD" from the Available Burning Formats on the Left side then click "New" on the Right side then drag your Mpeg2/SVCD file from the Right side over to the Left side and Burn it to Disk ...I personally like to use a Real SVCD Authoring Program to burn SVCD"s so I can add Chapters and Menu"s and other Extra Features to make the SVCD more enjoyable to watch...

DivX AVI to SVCD with Nero

March 9 2003, 5:52 AM

When I try to create an SVCD from a DivX AVI after encoding it, it tells me my media is not large enough to complete the burning process. I cannot locate a switch that tells the software to span disks. Do you know how to do this? I realize there are better tools out there to accomplish this task, but for newbies this is an easy place to start.

Thanks
Barry
