Question on sound quality

I compared a DVD ripped and a DivX(Avi) movie both converted to SVCD using DVD2SVCD with CCE SP. It seems to me that the end result of a SVCD from DivX(AVI) source produced better sound quality than the DVD source. Can someone explain. If that is the case, what do I need to enhance the sound for a DVD rip?

regards,
Luke

This is Probably the Fault of whatever decoded the Audio off of the DVD"s..What I do is Demux the AC3 audio off of the DVD and then use "Headac3he" to change the Sample Rate and decode the audio and encode it directly to Mp2 audio, I usually use the sound Booster and use the Gain to increase the Volume, this way I get Much better audio Quality than if I used DVD2AVI to decode the Audio...
