Why bother with procoder?

Why do people bother with procoder etc when CCE is so much faster.

Faster isn't always better. Quality, ease of use, price, comaptability issues... All kinds of things can make a person choose one product over another. Personally I prefer CCE myself, but just like anything else it is a subjective decision.

Speed is nice, but it is not everything to everybody. It means a lot to me, but if CCE looked bad I wouldn't use it. Thank God it is the best and fastest.

Procoder does a heck of a lot more! Resizes, converts between PAL and NTSC, converts to other avi types, encodes to a wider range of compression methods, and so on...

And Procoder on Mastering Quality has a Crisper image and it handles DV Sources Much better than CCE, some poeple don"t mind waiteing 36 hours for the absolute best Quality they can get..I personally still Prefer CCE but sometimes Procoder is the right tool for the Job...
