ATI TV Wonder VE Capturing on WinXP

I have installed the Brooktree drivers, and I'm using WinDVR to try and capture video with my ATI TV Wonder VE card.

On a previous system running Win2K and WinDVR I could set my capture config to SVCD or DVD (or any of the lower formats), unfortunately the system was too slow which resulted in a high percentage of dropped frames.

I put the card in my new system with WinXP, however now I am unable to select mpeg2 or any format with greater then 240 lines of resolution. I understood this to only be a limitation of the ATI MMC software, which is why I use WinDVR to begin with, not to mention the picture quality in general.

Anyone have any ideas what I can try next. I heard about registry hacks that exist for other OS's however I have not found anything specific and nothing at all about WinXP

I'm pretty sure that this card has that "BT" chip on it (as apposed to the Rage Theatre chip), and it is a known issue that this chip limits you to only ??x240 resolution.
However, you should be able to choose any resolution and MPEG2 if you use MMC.

I used to use an old All-In-Wonder 16MB card with that BT chip and I could capture any resolution using MMC. But if I tried any other capture program, then I had the 240 limitation.

There is a person in this forum by the name "Luisifer", and I'm pretty sure he used to use the VE card too. He maybe able to give you some insight on this issue??
