How to play the SVCD format

Hi there, how do I play a SVCD film? The library upon the disk is four folders containing multiple or no files. They are as follows:

>[SVCD]>
>[SEGMENT]>
>[MPEG2]>
>[EXT]

Where as the [mpeg2] folder contains the file 001.MPG which is 717.150 KB

I once made it play on a different machine than mine, under a mounting tool called Daemon, but I dont seem to get that working on my own.

So If there's a player that can quickly solve the prob, then I'd be glad to hear about it!!!

So far I've tried Zoomplayer, Windvd, Mediaplayer, Real, Quicktime, Elecard Mpeg-2 player, PowerDVD, etc, etc.

Plz help!!!

The mpg file IS in that MPEG folder and WinDVD should play it just fine. If you are using a computer without a DVD drive then you need to open WinDVD first, point to the MPEG folder and have it open that mpg file. Try right clicking on the WinDVD screen, you shold be able to 'open file', or get to it by clicking on 'playlist'.

If WinDVD still wont play it, even after you manualy point to it, then you have more serious issues.

Thanks Gammer! It didn't help much, but it was definately worth a try
Guess I got more serious probs than I like. Maybe one of these days when I make a system wipe I will get it right!!!
Otherwise it could be interesting to look for other formats of the file :D

Just then Take the Mpeg file off of the Disk and Drag it to your Desk top and Then Play it with Power DVD or what ever Software DVD Player you have....

Yea I tried, but no success unfortunately. Must be missing some nasty codec somewhere and 'll be looking for it!

All of the players you listed should install the proper codec you need to play MPEG-2 video. Maybe it's time to do a complete reinstall of the OS as your system seems to be really messed up.

Wow nice player there :D
Thought I'd found the ultimate with Zoomplayer, but this sure look promising hehe!

Unfortunately it didn't work either, so I'm of to mIRC to get another version of the file now - hopefully a nice hi-res avi or mpg with ac3 sound or somethin'.

Thanx for all the help ppl!
