How to change .mov video into svcd? Is it possible?

I would greatly appreciate is someone could give me some directions as to converting .mov video into compliant mpeg2 svcd. I tried Tmpeg 2.58 and it will not touch mov.
Yhanks for any help.
I've never actually done it, but I'm assured that TMPGEnc is all you need. Make sure you have the appropriate MOV codecs installed, and also check your TMPGEnc environmental settings. Believe it or not the priorities in that setting can make the difference between the application telling you it can and can't be done.
Maybe a Quicktime maven will chime in with more, but it should be doable.
As it happens the new version of Procoder is fully equipped to do what you want, but its a bit pricey.

If you want to use Tmpgenc you will Need the QT Mov Vfapi Plugin Installed and you will need Quicktime Installed, and even then It still might not work Because Since the QT Mov Plugin hasn"t been Updated since it was released over a Year ago it isn"t Quite Compatible with Newer Quicktime Files, well actually it is the audio that it has the Problem with, so if you use Tmpgenc to Encode Mov files to mpeg you might need to extract the audio from the Mov file to Wav format and use that as the audio source...But CCE Natively Supports Mov Files as long as you have Quicktime installed....
Video and image formats: AVI (also non-compressed), MPEG-1/-2 (Ligos Motion Encoder), MPEG-4, DivX, Windows MediaTM, MOV (Quicktime Movie), MXV, MJPEG, BMP, JPG as well as MAGIX video deLuxe project files (for integrating into a new project).
Audio formats: WAV, Audio CDs (Ripping), MP3 and MIDI files.
Additional Export formats: Real MediaTM, rendered DV AVIs, Snapshot function (unlimited export of film motifs as BMP or JPG files).

Why is it when simple questions like this one are asked here they get great responses but on other boards like doom the dude would of been put down big time for asking it?
