Anybody know the specs and limits of the ATI TV Wonder VE capture card as far as max capture bitrates etc..

The max bitrate will depend on your system. The faster CPU you have, the higher bitrate and resolution you will be able to capture at.

Then you're saying the card can capture at any bitrate dependent upon the PC?

Let me be more specific. I'm trying to find the best bitrate to capture without dropping frames. Thanx

It will be trial and error, depending on what CPU you have.

I used to have an AMD 1000MHz processor and I could only capture around 8 MBps at 720x480. I recently upgraded to a 1.7GHz processor and I can now capture 15 MBps at 720x480 (with video soap turned off).

So if you are dropping frames, then try to lower the res to 640x480 and try for the highest bitrate possible, or maybe try 480x480 and highest bitrate possible. If you are using a really slow CPU, then you may want to try I frames only and the highest res and bitrate possible. I frames do not use as much CPU power

The more info you can capture, the better the result will be.
