Hello, I'm trying to convert Divx and Xvid to SVCD using adobe mpeg encoder (adobe premiere 6.5), but when I create the new MPEG file it does not have any sound. I've tried tmpenc plus and it gives me an error messge- "error occured when ACM was initialized".
Please help me!

This is probably caused by variable bitrate audio compression.

Take the AVI file into VirtualDub, make sure audio is "Full processing mode" and "Uncompressed". Then save the audio only as a WAV file. Now you have a good audio file.

Delete the original audio track of the AVI file (seperate the audio from the video first, of course), and load the WAV file you created before into premiere. Link it to the Video track. That's it.

You can use Tmpgenc to Combine them ,it is Called "multiplexing", Run Tmpgenc and go to "File" to "Mpeg Tools" to "Simple Multiplex" then load the Mpeg audio and Video into it then choose the correct setting from the Dropdown menu then click "Run" and it will join or "Mux" the audio and video together...

Thank u it worked! (I had to change the WAV file to- MP3 though so TMPGenc would accept it)
Thanx again.

Are you saying you have to encode a wav file to Mp3 so that you could use the "Multiplex"?? if so the Wav file is supposed to be MP2 not Mp3 and your DVD Player will Probably not play the Video with Mp3 audio...

Assuming you do not want to edit the video/audio tracks, you can encode the video in premiere, encode the audio in TMPGEnc, and then multiplex to two with TMPGEnc.

Things are different if you want to edit the file, because the video and audio tracks must be synched. In Premiere, once you have the video and the correct audio tracks, click the video track, then select the "link" icon from the toolbar and click the audio track. This will make the two tracks look green, and they will e locked together.
