hi all,

i am using dvd2svcd and tmpgenc to back up dvds.
tmpg is now making a mess of the colour scheme during encoding process. I'm not sure whether the correct description is reversed or solarised or something else, but it's not right.

has anybody got any suggestions of settings that may need tweaking to fix this.

thanks.

(i even reformatted and loaded programs fresh but still no luck)

If you use avisynth to frameserve to tmpgenc you should add converttorgb() at the end of the script. But this should have been taken care of by dvd2svcd. I have seen this after upgrading to avisynth version 2.5.

There are other programs that do a better job. How come you want to use these programs for this type of job. Get DVDXCOPY or Blindwrite people have a backup from DVD to CD-R.

Those all in one DVD to VCD SVCD Programs are never better than useing the Right tools and doing it Manually..I think your Problem lies in that DVD2SVCD uses AVISynth to frame serve the D2V files to Tmpgenc and i have had the exact same Problem as you are with AVISynth and D2V Project files, I would sugest not useing DVD2SVCD for this time and try doing all the steps by your self but not useing AVISynth as all you need is Smartripper, DVD2AVI and Tmpgenc to Make a VCD/SVCD out of a DVD, and there are Lots of Guides on this Method at http://www.dvdrhelp.com/
