Okay i'm new to this whole thing, and i downloaded a movie the other day off BT, and all i got was a couple of cue files, and a couple of bin files. Now i downloaded daemontools to watch these on my computer, but when i mount a cue file, it asks what i want to do (play with media player, view files in folder, do nothing) and when i select media player, it says it encountered an unknown error. what am i doing wrong? how can i watch this movie when all i have are bin and cue files?

Well to Watch SVCD"s on your PC you have to Have a Mpeg2 decoder installed, and you shouldn"t use Media Player to watch SVCD/Mpeg2 files as it is Not a Good Player and it doesn"t display the File in the Correct aspect ratio..Use a Software DVD Player Like "PowerDVD", You can also try extracting the Mpeg2 file out of the Bin file and Play it like you would any Video file, But useing a software DVD Player...

Elecard Mpeg2 Player is the best Mpeg2 player I know. Also plays mpeg1 and avi files. It's very stable, and it's free. http://www.elecard.com/products/mpeg2player.shtml

The Best Mpeg2 Player I use/Know is Probably Power DVD, and it Plays everything else you have codecs for, To extract the Mpeg2 file from the Bin file you can use a Program called "Iso Buster" and it will extract all the Files in the bin file and in one of the Folders in the Bin will be file called "AVSEQ01.MPG", This is the Mpeg2 file, You can play it just like any Video File as Long as you have a Mpeg 2 decoder installed....

You have a couple of options. If you only want to watch it on your PC then you can go here and get this program http://www.videolan.org/ it will play the the movie without extracting it.

Or you can put it on CDR's using nero (I recomend the latest version) or alcohol120%. With Nero just do this .... File > burn image > where the cue file is ..then write it!! Repeat for disc2 . With alcohol120% its the same except you click image burning wizard thenits basicly the same as nero!!! The cue file will tell the burner how to burn the bin file onto cdr so it will play in your stand alone dvd player (if its compatable) or your then can play then with a software dvd player on your pc also.
Hope this helps
