I have two machine here at home. I would like to run virtualdub and its pack of filters on one machine. On the second I would like to run tmpgenc and encode the video.

Any Ideas?

I don"t think it is Possible But even if it was there wouldn"t be any Advantage to useing one PC to frameserve and one to encode as the Frameserveing take Very little CPU power so it would be a waste of that one PC, It would be better if you just used Both PC"s to Encode....

maybe but...

To the extent that you can mount a remote drive so that it appears to be a local one, I don't know why it wouldn't work, although I agree with Luisifer that it hardly offers any advantage and possibly significant disadvantage to copying the file locally and then processing.

It dosnt seem like there is any way to do it across the network, but then That's why I was asking here.

Well I don't know what kind of pc's you have, or the filters your running. But the frameserver alone will run for 10 to 12 hours of cpu time here at my house. When I run both the virtualdub frameserver + filters and encode to vcd with tmpgenc it will run for 24 hours for a 30 minute clip.

I have already tried to frameserve from one pc to another thru the network drives. but it appears that there must be something else that the frameserver is doing in memory for I get an error trying to open the file on the second machine.

Are you saying that it is Takeing you 24 hours to Frameserve and encode a 30 minute VCD Clip??? If so then that is a REALLY long time as it would only take me about 20 minutes and even Less if I was useing CCE to encode..Are your PC"s Really Old/Slow , Maybe it is time for an upgrade as it is so Cheap to upgrade to a Fast PC these Days ,Especially for an Athlon as I just saw a Athlon XP 2400+ and ECS MotherBoard for Under $100 on E-Bay so it might be something to consider....Cheers
