Ok I'm all set to do a little encoding ....finally....anyway the origanal AVI was recorded at 852kb/s and I was wondering if I should lower my bit rate when I encoded it to mpeg2 format??? I ussally use constant bit rate of 2600 and I know this has to do with the quality of the file whenits done but if the origanal is only 852 would I be ok to set it at like 1200 or so to make the file smaller????
Thanks for the help!!
The Bitrate your AVI was encoded too Has absolutly Nothing to Do with What bitrate you should use when encodeing it to Mpeg ,Mpeg2 and DivX are 2 totally seperate Formats and there Bitrates have absolutely no Corelation with each other..I would think that if your AVI was encoded at a Really low Bitrate then you would want to use a Really high Bitrate to encode it to Mpeg as the AVI would be lower Quality and you would want to get Closest to the Original Quality so you would need to use a Higher Mpeg bitrate...
For SVCD 1600kbs is Way too Low, anywere between 2000-2500kbs is the usual Bitrate for SVCD..1600kbs will Look Really Blocky, you would be better off useing the CQ(Constant Quality) Encodeing Method with 1600kbs being the Minimum Bitrate and 2500kbs being the Max bitrate and putting the Quality slider at about 80% that should give you Fair Quality with Smaller file sizes...
