I am trying to merge 3 svcd files together to be able to convert and burn to DVD.

What program(s) would everyone recommend?

Yes Tmpgenc Will Do it but it might also make the output file out of sync..I would use Mpeg2VCR to Merge Mpeg2 files...

If you have a copy of mpeg2vcr, the on screen help is good enough to get you going. Long time forum member Rich has a guide to using it at http://www.pcphotovideo.com/edit.htm
Rich and many forum regulars insist on calling it Womble, which drives me nuts. Womble is the name of the company (http://www.womble.com) that sells MPEG2VCR and since they have 2 different editors they sell (MPEGVCR only edits MPEG-1 video), I wish people would call it MPEG2VCR. To me this is kind of like ordering a Sprite and insisting that it's called Coca Cola because Coca Cola made it, but I suppose this is a battle I'm going to lose. Anyway, when you see people in this forum talk about Womble, they usually mean MPEG2VCR, although we do sometimes get posts from people who don't tell us that they really are using MPEGVCR and yes, it DOES make a difference.

I think you're picking fly s--- out of pepper, but you are of course right. I also agree that it is the simplest solution because it doesn't reencode as long as both clips are made to the same parameters.

BTW: Technically I understand that it does do some reencoding at the beginning and end in order to make the file have the proper frame combination, but that's a bit over my head. The bottom line is, its good and its fast.

It is easy to Join 2 or more Files with Mpeg2VCR, What I do is Load in the First File ,then Copy it to the Clip List ,Then load in the Second File and Put a Insert Marker at the Beginning of the second file, then Drag the first file from the clip list and drop it at the Beginning of file 2 were the Insert Marker is ,Then just use the Mark in and Mark out Buttons to choose the Beginning and End of the file...Were ever you Put the Inset Marker is were the File will be Inserted so if you Put the Insert marker at the Beginning of File 2 and Insert File one at the Beginning of it then Both file will be Joined...
