I want to copy the progress dvd to dvd+w.
1. Should I use force film option and encode it with 23.97 frame rate and then use reframe program to covert it back to 29.93 frame rate?? or just de-select force film option and encode it with 29.93 frame rate??

Thanks

What I would sugest you do is Use the Forced film option then encode it as a Progressive 23.97fps file then afterwords use "DoPulldown" to add the 3:2 Pulldown Flags, But remember to also add the Drop frame flag or your Movie will be out of sync at the end...If you do not use the Forced film then you would probably have to use some sort of Deinterlace filter cuz you might get a really bad Combing effect when viewed on TV, If you decode to use this Method I would sugest useing the "Smart Bob" filter or the "Field Deinterlace" filter in AVISynth for Deinterlaceing.....Cheers

PS: you can only use the Forced Film option if the Movie you are Copying is from a Film source and Not all DVD"s are, Out of the 4 movies I did last night 2 of them were Pure NTSC which I had to Deinterlace...

I donot have the pulldown tool. I encode the movie Lord of the Ring at 29.93 framerate. It looked bad (chopping) with interlace scan, but it look fine with progressive scan (my dvd player is progressive scan option).

Well If you used Forced Film in DVD2AVI then the File will be Progressive But at 23.97fps it is Not DVD compliant, All you need to do is Download either "DoPulldown" or "Pulldown.exe" But I prefer "DoPulldown", You can download it here :http://www.dvdcreation.net/download.php?id=1860 , Just remember if you are doing a DVD rip that you should enable the Drop Frame Flag...Cheers
