Guys:
I have just ordered Pioneer DVR-106D DVD Dual format Burner.. I have quick question...What is the difference between DVR-A06D model & DVR-106D model...Also I would like to know Your experience with this burner... Any pros or cons..

I have Panasonic DVD-RAM/R burner(don't remember the model #), SO far I have made 150+ DVDs and only one disc has been screwed up so far..It is a great drive, but burns DVD-R @ 1x..too slow....

Please share your experience with Pioneer DVR-106D drive...

Thanks,
Geek!!

If I recall right, those codes will just be differentiating between OEM and retail packaging. The drives themselves are identical but the 106 comes with additional burning software and DVD authoring/playing applications.

i have the dvr106d. This does not come with sofware - just the bare drive. Nero 5.5.10.35 and alcohol 120 works fine with it. I had 3 coasters with dvd-r and zero with dvd+r so far. DVD reading is a bit slow. it may be 8speed read. i have a feeling dvd+r give more reliable burns. The coasters were because nero froze up when writing leadout. too bad dvd+r is more expensive.
