I'm trying to convert an XviD avi file to svcd format, but the audio is out of synch on the end product everytime. I'm using TMPGenc to do the conversion. I changed the Directshow(?) setting to a higher priority so that TMPGenc will convert the AC3 audio from the source file. Now my question is if there is a way to make it stay in synch during the original conversion process so that I don't have to use any tools to resynch the audio and video after it's in mpeg format?
Actually Tmpgenc should not encode AC3 audio in AVI files Unless you have the AC3 ACM Decompressor Installed...If you are Haveing Problems with the Audio you might try extracting the Audio from the AVI to Wav format then use the Wav files as the audio source in Tmpgenc.....
I tried extracting it to wav and using that as the source after I wrote my last post, but that didn't help at all either. What is typically the cause of the audio not synching correctly in a situation like this? I've read many other posts and articles here and elsewhere, but I can't find anything that describes my problem. I'll install the decompressor mentioned above to see if that works. Any other ideas?

Sync Problems can be caused by a Bunch of things Like Encodeing to a different Frame rate than the Source File which means if your AVI file is 23.97fps you have to encode it to 23.97fps and if it is 25fps you have to encode it to 25fps or you can get Sync Problems.....
