extreme newbie needs help

Greetings. I found you thru google. OK, here's my question. I was given a CD/DVD that is kind of a slide show with music of some photos. I can easily play it on WINDVD.

My question is, how can I extract the photos? The CD seems to have 4 files, 2 that are empty and one that is the music. The third one is labeled SVCD. When I open this file it contains 6 more: ENTRIES.SVD, LOT.SVD, INFO.SVD, PSD.SVD, TRACKS.SVD and a DAT file labeled SEARCH.

I would very much like to extract the photos to print them, etc.

Would be grateful for any help.

Thanks,

Sara

The easiest is probably making screenshots in WinDVD.

Another way is to load the mpg-file to "VirtualDub 1.51" for mpg-import (it's freeware: h++p://fcchandler.home.comcast.net/stable/VirtualDub-MPEG2.zip)
Then move the controler to your wanted pictures and choose those you like.
Next step: <Video> <Copy sourceframe to clipboard>
Then import it in any program you like, as photoshop...
