help, how to play SVCD on PC

I have a home made SVCD that I can play in DVD player, but I can not play it on my pc.
I read somes articles in this forum and download some codec(?). Now I can play mpeg-2 file in media player or ati file player before encoding . But once I encode the mpeg-2 file into SVCD and burn it into cd, I can not play it on pc anymore, and I have to play it in DVD player.
