I bought a dvd+rw that claims to burn in super extended play, i.e. I can burn upto 16hrs on a double layer dvd. I contacted the vendor, and they refuse to tell me how, as I want to burn avi files. I am using Roxio 7 basic (came with dvd machine), but I can't even burn a svcd because I'm using 4.7gb disc instead of 650mb disc. Please, can anyone help me? My dvd+/-RW Double Layer is from Freecom. Help on burning my 6 avi files onto a dvd disc would also be very much appreciated.
You can not burn a SVCD on a DVD disk, you can use DVDLab to author the svcd file and burn it as a dvd.
To watch avi files on a standalone dvd player you need a dvd player with divx/xvid support. Otherwise you will have to convert the avi files to vcd/svcd/dvd with a program like WINAvi Video converter, TMPGenc etc. And then burn it as dvd.
I have no experianse with roxio software, I use nero and ther I must remember to put all the vob, ifo, bup files into the VIDEO_TS folder.
Hope this answered your questions.
